Proposals & Ideas
Proposals & Ideas
Got an idea or a proposal? Capture it in the team Proposals Sheet so it doesn't get lost — and so it can be triaged, discussed, or shaped when the moment is right.
Open the Proposals Google Sheet →
The Sheet is team-only. External proposals are not submitted directly — a team member sponsors the item and adds it on behalf of the contributor.
Idea vs Proposal
- Idea — creative spark, not yet structured. Captured and parked by default; revisited when the moment is right.
- Proposal — structured idea, ready for decision. Scheduled into a team meeting based on urgency.
How to add an item
- Open the Proposals Google Sheet and add a new row.
- Fill in the columns:
- Title
- Proposer
- Type — Idea or Proposal (dropdown)
- Short description
- Urgency — this meeting / next / no rush (mainly for Proposals)
- Status — defaults to New
- Decision note — left blank, filled in after discussion
- Discussed at meeting on — date, filled in after discussion
- If the Short description column isn't enough, create a Google Doc in this Drive folder and paste the link into the Short description cell.
Bringing a Proposal to a meeting
When you are ready to share a Proposal and seek a team decision (promoted to initiative, parked, closed, etc.), add a bullet with the proposal name to the Proposals section of the weekly meeting agenda yourself.
Agenda items are covered as time allows; otherwise they roll to a later meeting based on urgency and team workload. The proposer presents at the meeting.
What happens after discussion
- Shaped → gets a Google Doc for fleshing out; Armelle captures the item in the Proposals Sheet and, if needed, later promotes it to a project entry. Promotion to the Portfolio is manual and owned by Armelle.
- Absorbed → folded into an existing project (decision note links to it).
- Closed → not pursued (short reason in decision note).
- Parked → left open until the moment is right.
Stewardship

Migration note
Older idea notes that used to live in ideas/*.md have been migrated to the Proposals Sheet:
