Ideas Inbox
Got an idea, suggestion, or rough thought? Capture it here before it disappears.
The inbox is for rough, unformed inputs — anything from a project idea to a process improvement to a question worth exploring. It is not for formal proposals or active tasks; those live in the portfolio and weekly plans.
How to add an item
Two paths — use whichever feels easier:
Option A — Google Doc (easiest for most people)
- Create a new Google Doc in the Life Itself Ideas Inbox folder on Drive.
- Write whatever you have, even just a paragraph or a few bullet points.
- Open a new GitHub issue in this repo, give it a short title, and paste the link to your Google Doc in the body.
- Add the label
inboxto the issue.
Option B — GitHub issue directly (good for short items)
- Open a new GitHub issue in this repo.
- Write your idea directly in the issue body using plain text or Markdown.
- Add the label
inboxto the issue.
Either way, the GitHub issue becomes the trackable record. The Google Doc is just where the longer text lives if you prefer writing there.
What happens next
Inbox items are reviewed periodically. An item may be:
- shaped into a project or initiative proposal
- absorbed into an existing project
- discussed and then closed as not pursued
- left open until the moment is right
You do not need to do anything after submitting. If someone wants to follow up they will comment on the issue.
Not sure if it belongs here?
If it is an active task or a known project, it does not belong in the inbox — add it to the relevant project or weekly plan instead. If you are genuinely unsure, the inbox is fine. It is easier to triage a misplaced item than to lose a good idea.
